Look, I know that there's no way to boil down market-wide inflation into a single metric and that prices for different goods change at different rates. But what are the commonly approved indexes for a more accurate measurement of price inflation?

FRED charts might be the easiest way to play w/your ideas, that's basically all I've done when trying to figure out macro stuff
