Start playing a minecraft mod called MineColonies. I really like those mod where you can see npc or other entities working. It makes single player mode less single. And helps a lot for someone like me who is not good at building.

ATM9 is one of those, though the focus is not on MineColonies there, it's just an aside thing.
FTB Inferno has it too, and there MineColonies is an important factor in its quest book. It's also modified with certain nether raids and such and you need to set up barracks and guard towers for MineColonies so you're a lot more involved.
@trinsec I did try ATM9, but that number of mods is overwhelming. I noticed that the MineColonies looked interesting to me, so I did a quick search and started playing it.
@skyblond@qoto.org ATM9 has a quest book though, which'll half hand-hold you through. Though if you really wanted to be involved with MineColonies, I'd recommend FTB Inferno instead. The quest book is invaluable there, can't get around it. The backstory is also nice, and you need to like a nether environment.
