Sometimes when I post a link it just posts the URL. Other times the link is formatted with a preview. I don't know what I am doing differently but I would like it to always have a preview. Any idea how to do that?
@Elephantidae @slider7420 For a preview to work some of the Meta/Twitter metadata should be in the header of the page, eg which image to display. Or maybe I an misunderstanding...
@DamonHD @Elephantidae
I don't *think* this is related to Twitter? I am going to post three images to be more clear.
Image one, my creating a post.
Image two, a post without a preview.
Image three a post with a preview.
Sometimes it comes out like image two, sometimes like image three. So are you saying it is not related to the way I post but rather the way the site I am posting is set up?
@slider7420 @Elephantidae Yes, at least some of the time. Try posting one of my pages which does have the Twitter/Meta info and see if you get a preview: earth.org.uk/note-on-condensation-management.html
(put a https://www. in front if need be)
@DamonHD @Elephantidae OK, testing it in this reply:
https://www.earth.org.uk/note-on-condensation-management.html
@DamonHD @Elephantidae second test without www
earth.org.uk/note-on-condensation-management.html
@slider7420 @Elephantidae It may also depend on how busy the various servers are. I can see Twitter and now M sometimes taking a while to read the target page, pull and reformat the image, etc.
@slider7420 I'm also curious about this. Seems hit or miss. But I find that link previews across all platforms to be hit or miss.
