I am once again reminded that in the fediverse you never know what somebody is really responding to because you never know what's visible or invisible to you. Anywhere.

@doctorambient I sometimes remember to open the toot on its home instance to see the original context, but only sometimes... And then sometimes it's private as well then that doesn't work
@spoltier That's a good policy. I definitely don't do that enough myself.
And, of course, one never knows who's running a different block list, so there's that as well.
One thing the unspeakable site got right was putting in placeholders for missing tweets so that you at least knew there was a conversation you weren't a part of.
That's one feature I miss here.
