Self-driving cars are nowhere near being ready to be deployed in the wild, and customers call centre are a couple of lawsuits about hallucinating BS away from realizing that people are more efficient.
The hype is just hype.
@j_bertolotti @nf3xn @carnage4life walk around San Francisco on any given day and you’ll see driverless cars bussing people around. It’s now commonplace. Waymo is real.
@j_bertolotti @eyevanovich @nf3xn @carnage4life I think this is an interesting point; driving in car-centric cities in the western half of the US may be a different (low-skill) task compared to driving in older, more dense and pedestrian-friendly, cities in Europe. Let's see how they do in NYC; Berlin might also be attainable. Italian cities might be much more difficult still.
