Does anyone know of a FOSS media streaming server that has a plugin for Kodi and apps for Android, Linux, and Windows?
Should work over the internet, not just LAN.

@Hyolobrika My solution is to just dump media files in /var/www/. Is there a reason people make it more complicated?

@swiley It would be nice to be able to play them on the big screen using apps like Kodi.

@Hyolobrika Your "big screen" doesn't have a web browser?

@swiley Fair enough. But web browsers are usually bloat though.

@Hyolobrika Any OS with "apps" probably won't let you remove them and any OS that would can probably just run mplayer.

@swiley It depends on the app. My Android phone lets me remove most apps.

@Hyolobrika I doubt it lets you remove webkit though. The "browser" app is just a wrapper for that.

@swiley It would also be nice to have lots of different views for the data. Say, a tag view as well as a hierarchical category view. Do you know any low-JS webapps that can do that?

@Hyolobrika You could probably write an awk one-liner to generate an html index for that easily enough.

@swiley Also it would be nice to be able to play them on an Android phone while doing other things. Most web browsers for Android won't continue playing audio once you've moved away from them, and video is janky.

@Hyolobrika Oof. Sounds like a defect in Android. I don't have this issue on PMOS.
