#Irreal: 🥩 Red Meat Friday: Is #Emacs Slow For You
irreal.org/blog/?p=12256

Well, since I upgraded my NixOS which got me Emacs 29.3 (from 28.2) on that host, it is really slow and I'm not even using LSP. It's one to two words behind when I'm typing.

I know people who would instantly trash a tool that is as slow as my Emacs right now. 🤷😞

If somebody has a clue what's wrong here, let me know.

@publicvoit if you have the older Emacs installed too, the profiler might show what used to be not slow. Running without packages (no-init) might be faster, just to check.

This happens to me too, and it doesn't make sense and eats up time (worth it, for the features). The dependency stack and compilation flags too might be making the difference (NixOS).
