I'm still amazed at the achievement Israel has unlocked: mainstream propaganda machines automatically frames any victims of its attacks as terrorists deserving of what happened to them. how many people realize it and question it? e.g., the conflation of hamas with the civilians in gaza, and even the other civilian semites in the west bank; hezbolla with the people of lebanon; ... as if israel's seemingly-divine right to attack their targets by whatever means makes bystander victims acceptable. how can some of us be driven into dehumanizing others and not caring about their misery so easily?

It is happening far away. We seem incapable of comprehending even developments impacting us, leave alone others far away.

that theory doesn't add up, I'm afraid. see how people related and reacted to the invasion of Ukraine, or with the attack to Israel, even though they were about just as far away. reporting and framing, not distance, are key
