@ukuli I've probably read something by Philip K Dick, but it was ages ago. Which one is his best book?

"Best" is of course deeply subjective and depends on what you like. "The man in the high castle" is a famous and pretty straightforward one, "Now wait for Last Year" is weird and strange, but a bit of fun. Far out there you have "VALIS". One that's become a movie this millennia is "A scanner darkly", it's closer to the "high castle" in terms of strangeness, but it was honestly a bit depressing.

These are simply the ones I've read, but reading Dick never felt like a waste of time.
