More likely it's because the selection by the study authors for who to select when studying long term effects of COVID was too narrow.

Also note my other comment about the headline rate of long Covid for 50% of all diagnosed Covid cases being completely wrong.

@tobychev Scientifically the meta study didn't provide possible causes.

What irced me, was the allure to a medical mystery by the journalist when there are clear differences in the covid history. No need to connect africa with a disease mystery like that, in fact it's politically dangerous.
