Microsoft announces plans to reboot Chernobyl reactor to power Clippy for Word.

“We cannot allow Russia to beat us at pissing away humanity” said Microsoft exec Brad Smith, while smoking a kipper at breakfast.

@GossiTheDog I thought Russia now controls Chernobyl. I look forward to the corpo-country wars beginning with the fodder coming from the recently employed, interns and overseas conscripts.

no, the Russians only held it for a few months at the start of the war, and gave it up as part of their general retreat from the north of Kyiv in ~April of 2022. You might be thinking of Zaporizhzhia nuclear powerplant in the south of Ukraine.

@tobychev @GossiTheDog yeah I was really just making a joke about Microsoft wanting to beat Russia and then having to fight them at Chernobyl in a corpo-country war. I am thinking of the "Microsoft App Remote Marine Corps, powered by ChatGPT" fighting the Russian military for control of Chernobyl to secure a stronghold in the nuclear energy sector in Eastern Europe. 😜
