Today is the Feast of Saint Lucy in the Christian calendar, and, copying big brother Sweden, it's become a big deal in Norway. In addition to dressing the little children up in white gowns and parading them through the dark with little torches, the day is celebrated by eating "Lucy's pussy", a saffron bun, to commemorate Lucy of Syracuse's consecration of her virginity to God and her martyrdom o.t.d. in 304CE. #NorwayFacts

"kuse" is pussy in norwegian? I only know of it as a dialectal word for insect pests, though evidently it had a different meaning in the past.
