Putin on Sweden's "stupid" decision to join NATO:
"Everything Russia wanted from the Swedes was settled with the Battle of Poltava [in 1709]," says Putin, referring to the Great Northern War, which ended the Swedish Empire and launched Russia's empire in Eastern Europe.
