cancer, death, horrible relatives

OK, here’s a new definition of “#chutzpah”.
Sister in law’s husband just died after long struggle with cancer. She’s been running herself ragged for the last few months caring for him, working full time (from home, a small mercy), and the last few weeks he was in home hospice care, where she was providing constant support while watching the man she loved inexorably die. You got all that? Oh. Ver. Whelmed.

So, yesterday, he passed. She plans a cremation and no funeral, maybe a memorial in the future when she can deal with it.

Other sister in law (I am married to the third sister) calls her, first, to complain about having to hear about it on social media instead of, I dunno, getting a singing telegram, and second, to ask the widow to schedule the funeral so she (other sister) could arrange her bereavement leave to get a 5-day weekend.

If there’s *another* death in the family, no jury would convict.

@LizardSF You know, it's a long time since I last heard those last four words.
