What verb do you use in English to describe process of... covering window with curtains? Like,

- The damn sun is too bright, please <??> the window.

After a couple of attempts it seems like just "cover" but it didn't seem really natural so I am asking. Probably because in Russian our verb for it has the same root with "curtains", so literally it would be "to curtain the window"...

In Dutch it would be like "please close the curtain". In English I think something like drawing the curtain is involved but I never remember if that's closing or opening.
