You know people hate the Ewoks? Well I think it's not the fact that they are silly teddy bears but the fact the Ewok part is a bit boring.
In their primitive way, the Ewoks are quite tedious. But if they were some other race, that part of the film would still be tedious if that race was also primitive.
It's their primitiveness that slows the plot down unnecessarily.
I think that's the main problem.

@LydiaConwell That's a fair point. Is it in any way possible that it still could be interesting even if it was a primitive race?
@trinsec Yeah, probably. It's just in the movie the Ewoks are easily frightened over small things and their initial part in the film only delays the rebel's undercover operation. So at first, they're just a hindrance.
