Just watched The Phantom Menace for the second time (the first being when it was released).

Boy, is that a stinker of a movie? Can anyone actually explain to me what the point of it is? I don't mean explain what happens, I mean explain the point. Go on: pitch the idea to me; tell me why I should care.

The entire films was mostly a load of cameos of old characters. There was something about taxation and trade and some dispute; and Padme pretended to be someone else for a bit.

@lydiaconwell Eh, George Lucas managed to completely screw the franchise after the original trilogy. I was a die hard Star Wars fan... emphasis on was.

I still like some elements of Star Wars though. All those books I have here were pretty decent, before they were declared non-canon with the new movies. Rogue One was also a nice watch.

But with Starwars movie #7 (The Force Awakens iirc?) I have had zero motivation to watch #8 and #9, which I understand are shit.

I'll stick to the old canon.

@trinsec Ya. The last one is real stinker. It's worth watching to see just how much it stinks.
