I think quote tooting should be a feature of #Mastodon

It would be nice to point to a comment without it being some lousy anonymous link. The quote feature is quick and visually pleasing

Yes it can be used to be nasty to other people, to point out their foolishness and announce it to the world ... But so what? There are plenty of ways to be a dick without quote tooting

It can also be used as a #paratooting feature: springboarding off someone else's idea (ripping them off) and adding your take

@lydiaconwell Some instances support quote tooting. The one I'm on, for example, does. Instances based on the Glitch version of Mastodon do too, I think.

@lydiaconwell Ask your admin if they're willing to upgrade/adjust their instance to include this feature? Otherwise you can always move to an instance that has the features you want.

@trinsec How do you contact your admin? They've messaged me before but I've never tried to contact them.

Follow

@lydiaconwell Just send them a toot, public or direct. The 'about this server' link usually shows who the admin are of that instance.
