@dusan Ah that's a different kind of 'convenience'. The vendor lock-in kind of convenience. It's getting about time that every news outlet and project gets moved over to a more accessible medium. ;)
@trinsec the sad thing imho is that the @EU_Commission has a mastodon account and host their own instance while most major open source projects don’t even have an semi-official account. It’s really not that difficult.
@dusan Indeed. And it's the best way to show the world at large that, yes, every account from their domain is verified as coming from them! And it doesn't cost $8 a month! ;)
Sure, the server costs money.. but if they are big they already have a server lying around anyway.
@trinsec by convenience I mean having all you contacts and people you’re interested in following on Twitter and some but not all of them on fediverse. I also found it that I miss a lot of news from some projects that they post on twitter which is fine for me but some users would prefer sacrificing their freedom in order to stay well informed.
