Qoto.org blocking, genocide mention
Qoto.org says it has zero tolerance for hatred, but also "does not currently block any Fediverse servers".
I messaged Qoto admin to ask whether they would block servers that incited genocide. Admin replied Qoto would not block such servers.
I asked about the danger of radicalisation, and they said "(people) aren't going to read some random thing on the internet and turn bad. It just doesn't happen."
Have blocked qoto.org, would encourage others to do same.

p.s. I'm not basing this post on anything other than the Qoto admin's own words.
I had heard controversy about Qoto, so I went directly to the Qoto admin with simple questions, and they replied directly to me with simple answers.
It is his own words to me that are my reason for the block.
You don't need to federate with a server to monitor dubious accounts. Even blocked accounts on Mastodon can be monitored one-way by adding .rss to the end of their URL.

p.p.s. I have seen people I know radicalised online. It does happen. It is horrible.
A "no server blocking" policy can only be defended if you think there is no such thing as online radicalisation.
As soon as you accept the reality of online radicalisation existing, you also have to accept that server blocks are sometimes necessary. The two things are inextricably linked.
This is why I recommend the block.
Suicide mention, ableism
You do realize that if it was an actual QOTO user saying this he'd be suspended immediately, right?
We do NOT tolerate this kind of behavior.
