Content reveals completed jigsaw puzzle

Tea Bath by Stasia Burrington. Puzzle design by Matt Lyon. 210 pieces. Made by Artifact Puzzles.

An easy Artifact puzzle (approx. one half-hour session with two people). A nice puzzle with a lot of charm in the image and design. Good to do on a snow day.

@crosswordman Cute puzzle design. Quite a bunch of unusual shapes there, neat.

@trinsec Yes, the unusual shapes are a traditional feature of wooden jigsaw puzzles, and are called whimsies.

I like to start with them, as the odd outlines of whimsy pieces make a helpful starting point.

@trinsec Yes, it's a wooden puzzle, with 1/4" plywood pieces in this case.

There's quite a renaissance in wooden puzzle making at the moment. Laser cutting has changed the economics significantly: the original method of cutting wood by jigsaw (hence the name) is very time-consuming.

@crosswordman Ah sweet, less of a chance of the damn cardboard breaking in the thin pieces. And yeah, laser cutting is pretty nifty.
