Most people think that Mario Kart is the best kart racing series. And I take nothing away from it.

But have you ever tried the Sonic kart racing series? This one is my favourite.

Of course, it features all the SEGA cast of characters from games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Jet Grind Radio, Crazy Taxi, Alex Kidd, and a host of others.

And in keeping with SEGA’s legacy, it has much more of an arcade feel than other kart racers. Yes, it’s got neat locales and power ups, much like others of its ilk. But it also really gets my adrenaline pumping like no other kart racer.

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing came out in 2010 but it wasn’t the last of this kart racing series. Not even by a long shot.

It very playable on modern PCs. It only requires a 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 processor, 1GB RAM, 256MB VRAM, 6GB HD space.

If you want something different from Mario Kart, this is worth checking out.
