Right, you mentioned you studied it in quite some depth back in college… I was thinking of “steelmanning” the other side of the argument, but it seems you know both sides pretty well already.

I can't recommend any books “in favour” (I love and her approach though). But if I were delving deep like you, I would have some morbid curiosity to read some of the most recent (and popular) ones, such as “White Fragility”, “How To Be An Antiracist”, or (gasp!) “Antiracist Baby”.
