I'm super annoyed at the way Yann LeCun responded to criticism of the overhyped bullshit that was Galactica, but he's getting dragged at the birdsite for posting the following. IMO, he's exactly right.
The critics of this particular post are missing the fact that the AI is fabulous at capturing the **structure** of language while failing abysmally at capturing its usage (or slightly less accurately, its meaning).

@ct_bergstrom He lost me at the specious analogy between biological and artificial neural networks. Just as a starter, I don't think that there's back propagation in human brains.
