Microsoft buying TikTok would not solve any of TikTok’s issues. It would just move the mounting pressure of TikTok’s biggest privacy issue from the hands of a Chinese company to the hands of a US tech giant. Moreover, Microsoft has been known not to be great at security and privacy either. And additionally, I predict that Microsoft would just use it as an opportunity to lock yet another product into its shitty Microsoft account ecosystem.
