@pluralistic To slow down private equity acquiring failed non-profits with land holdings (like Mills College), I'm trying to get the attention of folks in Sacramento to do a "transfer tax"... basically, to collect the taxes NOT collected from the non-profit as a part of allowing this to pass into a for-profit domain... Here's some idea of the concept.

@junana @pluralistic so basically if I buy a property from a non-profity I would also have to pay a tax equivalent to what the property tax would have been on that property for the length that it was owned by a non-profit?
