AR-18 BUT TRIANGLE BOLT LIKE THE BARRETT AND LONG STROKE GAS PISTON LIKE AN AK
CHARGING HANDLE STUCK ON THE GAS PISTON -- LIKE THE HK ROLLER DELAYS BUT RECIPROCATING
FIXED EJECTOR -- ANOTHER ROD STUCK ON THE BACK PLATE THAT FIXES THE DUAL GUIDE RODS
THAT SAME ROD CONTROLS THE ROTATION OF THE BOLT ALONG THE CAM -- THE EJECTOR PREVENTS THE BOLT FROM ROTATING UNTIL IT REACHES THE POINT WHERE IT CAN TURN TO LOCK SO IT DOESNT COME OUT OF ALIGNMENT WITH THE LOCKING RECESSES
@nugger I'm not familiar with the Barret bolt but this thing would essentially ride on 4 separate rods, then? One in the front for the gas piston and 3 in the back?
@SuperMailFatality oh no i didn't mean the barret short recoil system
i just meant the triangular bolt head with three locking lugs and three locking recesses in the barrel extension
@nugger that's a bolt action, though. Would it work with the gas operated bolt or is that too precise a fit for such a system would be my biggest concern
@SuperMailFatality i looked for a pic of barret's bolt head and couldnt find anything
looked up gun bolt triangle and found out someone already made an ar18 with a bolt like that
@nugger @SuperMailFatality a Leader or MPAR556. Which is a Leader with garbage attached
@D00B @Godcast @SuperMailFatality its a cool idea but i wouldnt trust it with my life
more of a novelty than anything -- hard to fit an entire cycle of operation in the space of an ar-15 upper without making the energy envelope too tight for the gun not to be finicky
@nugger @Godcast @SuperMailFatality they overgas the shit out of it. It has more recoil than my AK
@D00B @Godcast @SuperMailFatality probably for that reason -- put as much energy into the cycle as the construction of it can handle for reliability
its an engineering challenge to do this kind of thing
@D00B @Godcast @SuperMailFatality what i really wanna know is why did the chinks have their bullpup fire off a striker rather than a hammer
like what was the rationale of the engineers
@nugger @D00B @Godcast @SuperMailFatality assuming we are talking about the Type 95/97, the chingchong wingwongs engies weren't thinking at all when making the type 95

t. Type 97 owner
@PanzerTan @D00B @Godcast @SuperMailFatality i wouldnt underestimate them
i mean i never made a gun
maybe theres something im not getting
@nugger @D00B @Godcast @SuperMailFatality tru, just buttmad about the safety placement, mag release, the fact mine jams so much and our govt are a bunch of faggots that won't let us have AR-15s
@PanzerTan @D00B @Godcast @SuperMailFatality
FIFTY TIMBIT STORE CREDITS DETUCTED FROM YOUR ACCOUNT CITIZEN FOR DISRIKE OF GRORIOUS RIFU OK HAVE GOOD DAY
@PanzerTan @D00B @Godcast @SuperMailFatality the VZ58 is also striker fired
my inquiry into striker fired vs hammer fired just brings up pistol discussions
Follow

@nugger @D00B @Godcast @PanzerTan @SuperMailFatality the VZ58 is only sort of striker fired. Its more accurate to say that it uses a linear hammer
