So, I just have to say it in order to live up to my ethical ideals. I doubt I'll find much if any support for my position on Mastodon nor probably much more on that other foul site, but I have to say it.

The first responders training facility creation in the unused since 1995 forested acreage was a vote by elected officials.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms released the following statement following the vote:
"The new Public Safety Training Facility is another step in our Administration's efforts to support our fire and police officers, while also focusing on sensible reform. This training facility will not only help boost morale, retention and recruitment of our public safety personnel, but will give us physical space to ensure that our officers and firefighters are receiving 21st century training, rooted in respect and regard for the communities they serve. We will continue to work with the impacted communities on how to best thoughtfully develop and preserve the surrounding property."

Absolutely no one can successfully defend the argument that I don't care about the environment or equal justice for everyone just as much as anyone else. I personally think that democracy the least worst form of governance to hopefully do better on both of those two vital issues.
I have made it clear since before #J6 and quite strongly since that my adamant opinion is that political violence is not the best approach towards achieving one's goals.
The protestors were trespassing which can be defensible civil disobedience in many, many cases as long, but I agree with Thoreau's philosophy that the protestors have to suffer the consequences from the law they feel is unjustified in order for them to make the best case. Hopefully, the jury can hear their case and nullify the charges if they agree, but as we saw with Tim DeChristopher and others that's not always the case.

@GreenFire The elephant in the room for that whole event is ANTIFA if you don't condone their presence. influence and actions you are in as much denial and hypocrisy as the rest of the "political left".
