Absolutely stunned that people I could have sworn were sensible are lining up to endorse Post as their preferred Twitter off-ramp. Because _these_ right-wing libertarian billionaire owners will behave totally differently, you see.
It’s not remotely the same in terms of moral consequence, but it really does feel like the Iraq war, in the sense that a bunch of us are going to wind up having been 100% right about this and it will nonetheless get us absolutely zero extra credibility.
@pnh I was interested in Post and got an early invite. I was intrigued until it was pointed out their terms of service forbid making fun of billionaires. Given the pedigree that didn't surprise me. Once I saw a16z was investing I was done. I mean how many platforms do I want Andreeson to block me? (he once tried to get me fired over a research note but that's another story)

I've been sadly laughing at how many of these alternative platforms over the years have written up the most inept terms of service, this one included.
So many of these are written in such a silly, unenforceable way that I guess it really says something about the operators that they'd be published at all. They're jokes.
It's one thing to take a bad idea and write up good, enforceable legal document to establish it. But these guys can't even write good documents for their bad ideas.
