Yep, instances that give users more power and more features are able to participate in even if other instances leave their users hamstrung by questionable software development decisions of the past.

I lack the mental health (and am an American, so also lack the mental healthcare resources) to do admin on a site much larger than myself and a few friends, but I hope there are some big #Misskey and #Akkoma instances spun up as well, so people can start to see the advantages to those as well as some of the cool forks like qoto is using!

@volkris @skroobler I've been basically making this argument before. It makes no sense to allow embedding/sharing of any source except Mastodon, really. It was just crippling the Mastodon UX for no good reason.
