Right, but a president can only use the pandemic to escape accountability for just so many policy missteps.

For example, pandemic or no the guy signed into law spending bills that spent money that didn't exist, not even through financing. The pandemic didn't force him into that!

We need to be holding powerful officials accountable for their behavior in office. We should not be making blanket excuses for them like this.

@volkris I'm not excusing bad policy because of the pandemic, nor did I intend to make any sort of blanket statement about accountability.

However, the pandemic DID drive gas prices down for a while because so many fewer people were driving. Those low prices were not going to last forever, no matter who the President was. The pandemic DID create problems in the supply chain that had a ripple effect on prices globally.

Yes, all leaders need to be held accountable. I don't care what party they are. I'm just tired of the people who think Trump and his administration sh*t ice cream when they did not, and people who don't consider the multiple factors that affect things.

You specifically said you were talking about a time before the pandemic, so you can't really pivot now and start bringing up the pandemic as factoring into the comparison.

It hadn't happened yet.

We can call out Biden's bad policies regardless of anything involving Trump.

@volkris Sounds like you are just trying to be difficult. I am not going to argue with you. Goodbye.
