I have been looking at the #BlueSky #ATProtocol — and AFAICT it is still a work in progress.

Those behind it want it to be decentralized. But it isn't decentralized yet.

One (current) point of centralization with BlueSky is how their #DecentralizedIdentifier ( #DID ) works:

(The oddly named "DID Placeholder".)

Last I looked I got the impression that the documentation itself was a work in progress. It just sounded like there were a bunch of things implemented that hadn't been documented yet.

But that was probably a few months ago.

Did it sound that way to you reading through it now?

Anyway, given what I've read about their goals, I'd be surprised if they would leave a thing like this so centralized in the end.

The documentation also looks like a work in progress.

There are even places in it where it says "TODO".

Currently there isn't sufficient information there to implement BlueSky AT-Protocol.

I've been talking to some people on the BlueSky Matrix channel to fill in the gaps. (There are some helpful people there.)

...

I also don't think the BlueSky people will likely leave it centralized.

But for now, it is what it is.
