@jameeljaffer How would this even work? I can see how a state might be able to stop a company from doing financial business there, but stop people from using an app with no $ changing hands?

@mattblaze @jameeljaffer Why should this kind of legislation be workable? This wasn't proposed by, supported by, or approved by anyone with a fucking clue how a collection of tubes works in reality.

I imagine the legislation isn't particularly workable, and if enforced MT will send Google a bill to collect a fine, and Google will laugh the letter's way to the garbage can.

I would be nice, though, if this resulted in a court case that emphasized that no, states can't regulate the internet itself.
