We have app support for de-Twittering and de-Youtubeing links.
Why not have the same for news articles? I consciously chose not to read my news with Apple (or Google, Facebook or Microsoft) - so I don't want every shared article from someone else to tell them what I'm reading. Not to mention longevity of the links...
Couldn't #Fediverse apps de-Amp, de-Apple, de-Bing shared news articles, too?

That might get a bit more dramatic as people with a lot of interest in keeping journalism funded might push back on it.
It's one thing to "steal" cat videos from YouTube, but there's a large constituency that's concerned about any move that further erodes financing of the press.
