I don't think Trump, his weak-kneed GOP enablers, or the violent MAGA thugs think about his "legacy."
They want to normalize racism, sexism and white nationalism with a thin veneer of unconstitutionally forced "Christianity."
The stain has set. No amount of scrubbing could remove it.
