The problem is that having US governmental institutions leave #Twitter disconnects them from the public that they're supposed to be responsive to, all the people who still use Twitter to support their window to the world.

It's one thing to encourage more communication through other platforms, but this would encourage less.

It's one of those cases of building up instead of tearing down.
