If it is true that Elon Musk has been personally communicating with Putin and has an unprecedented level of access to information on the Ukraine war, that is incredibly bad. The DoD had been very bullish on Starlink as a military tool, but I am guessing Musk has pissed off the government to the extent that they will start looking elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure that was always Musk's position, though, that SpaceX was willing to offer a certain level of charity, but not an unlimited amount as it still has to run a business, so if the handout it was extending wasn't worth it, they were welcome to go elsewhere for service.
