I've always held that companies that want to be in the #fediverse should **be** in the #fediverse. Therefore, I block those instances that are farms of bots mirroring content from elsewhere but not accepting replies from the fediverse.

I've blocked press.coop this morning. From their about page:

"Press.coop imports RSS feeds from popular press sites to the fediverse, and is operated as a public benefit by hello.coop.

As these are imported RSS feeds and not for engagement, replies to posts are rejected."

I used to block domains with my account, but I now block them with my instance.

Doesn't fediverse still accept replies and allow discussion regardless of whether the original instance accepts replies?

If I reply to a post from one of their RSS feeds, or boost or share it, doesn't that all show up on timelines open for discussion regardless of whether they reject them?
