@arstechnica If he wasn’t a billionaire would he have a choice? If it was a single mom with mulitple kids, it would have taken a couple of months to lose everything and be living on the street.

@ericwelch

Keep in mind that Musk and the company are not one in the same.

A suit against the company is not a suit against Musk. The company not paying a bill is not the same as Musk not paying a bill.

@volkris The company doesn’t pay because of Musk. Let’s not perpetuate the idea that executives aren’t liable for their own decisions. He may not be criminally guilty. Debtor prisons are illegal. Punishing Twitter can only hurt him as well.

@ericwelch that's not how corporations work, and heck, Musk isn't even CEO of the company.

Punishing Twitter impacts all of the corporate stakeholders, so this focus on Musk amounts to an irrational obsession.

@volkris No. Twitter should be punished for all of its malfeasance, as should Musk for his racism and anti-semitism, and general douche-baggery. (Not legally of course, just by doing everything to stop the damage they inflict on the culture.)

@ericwelch Well then if not legally then how?

@volkris By encouaging others to not use Twitter/X. By suing them for rent, etc. By legally I meant in a court of law.
