It’s finally clear as day. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has announced he will run as an independent for president. He’s backed by GOP funders, and his goal is to peel away Democratic voters from Biden. Don’t be fooled by shiny third party traps. To stop Trump, we need to unite behind Biden. A vote for anyone else is a vote for Trump.

@georgetakei REMINDER....and WARNING:
we now have Cornell West AND RFKJr......Hitler won with 43.9% of the vote because the anti Nazi votes were too split.

@BlueWaver22 @georgetakei So true. That is exactly how Trump managed to gain the Republican nomination in 2016. There were so many candidates that none of his opponents could muster a large enough following to make any gains against Trump, who dominated among racists and nutters.

Studies of the electorate showed otherwise: Trump managed to bring together a coalition of different groups--many who had huge disagreements with others--in a way that no other candidate could.

It wasn't a case of splitting of the vote. It was more that Trump managed to make himself into a Rorschach exam onto which those different groups could project their own notions of what they wanted.

Republicans voted FOR Trump. They didn't vote against other candidates in this case.
