For example, the US voted against the ceasefire resolution at the UN because it didn't go far enough, and wouldn't have been strong enough to really promote peace on the ground.
You can see that in the official UN releases, but so much anger on social media gets that story backwards.

A permanent ceasefire would guarantee that. You have to look at what the US is doing and not just what they say. Israel has destroyed most of Gaza's infrastructure including roads. What do they do now? Send more weapons and ask for more aid. It's in front of our eyes.
It's been two months and we hold the war machines ourselves strings.
