Jack Smith goes straight to #SCOTUS, blocking #Trump’s ability to string out his DC trial on charges he attempted to overturn the election?

Is a former president immune from prosecution “for crimes committed while in office”? Does a hung impeachment provide immunity from prosecution?

@kegill Well it only blocks the ability to string out the DC trial if the Court takes the unusual step of accepting the request.

Otherwise it actually HELPS string out the trial since it adds this extra step in the proceedings.

It does not stop the appeals court from proceeding.

There is precedent for the request as I outlined in the thread.
