I hope someone can innovate a way to share server loads for a site. I have this thought whenever I visit Wikipedia. I donate to it occasionally, but I'm not a sustaining member. But recently whenever I view the site I'm bombarded with requests for cash. I figure wikis allowed for sharing content creation, so I hope something can allow for collectively sharing server loads as well, just so I don't keep getting bombarded with money begging from such sites.
Well if you'll excuse me my cynical reaction is, when is anybody ever going to stop asking for more money? You can always ask for more donations and find ways to spend it.
But also I think this is a good time to bring up #IPFS which is a distributed network that might be able to distribute load pretty well if it was ever really integrated with wikimedia platforms.
