In 1948, Harry S Truman campaigned against a "do-nothing" Congress. That Congress passed 906 bills, including the Truman Doctrine, the Marshall Plan, and the Taft–Hartley Act. The current Congess—halfway through its session—has passed only 27 bills.

@mickeleh I'd say it emphasizes the ridiculousness of branches campaigning against each other.

We elected a bunch of Congress people who didn't do too much, and that hasn't had much to do with the president. Wrong branch of government.

We elected a bunch of people who couldn't get along so we got exactly what we voted for: people who couldn't get along and pass legislation.
