At the time of writing, in the west, a "new" year is approaching. But, will the majority of people carry on doing exactly the same in #2024?

If the majority of people that lived in industrialised societies made new years resolutions to reduce their businesses & their personal CO2 emissions, to reduce their greenhouse gas emitting activities, & lived by those resolutions, that's how to really begin to reduce CO2 emissions therefore to mitigate #ClimateChange

#activity change or #ClimateCrisis

@scientist The majority of people just aren't that interested in that cause, though, so yeah they are just going to carry on doing exactly the same.

@volkris

Of course, more people thinking about how to reduce #CO2 emissions can only have a positive effect (& affect). In all contexts (e.g., individuals, organisations), what needs to happen is that society makes plans, & follows through on them, to provide lower CO2 activities. We generally know what those lower CO2 activities are. For example, #transport is the highest CO2-emitting activity sector, therefore, replacing private vehicles with EV public transport will decrease CO2 emissions
