I know mastodon.social is seen as a detriment to some in the fediverse
But have you ever considered my story?

We take m.s for granted, a large part of the fediverse literally wouldn't exist unless @Gargron built a suitable GNU/Social successor.
The fediverse is quick to point fingers at Mastodon and Gargron, but thanks to him, you have a platform to do that on.
We love you big G, you are my hero ❤️
@faraiwe While I disagree, you have to consider that m.s is open source, and by that fact, isn't very much like Zuck, Musk or Dorsey.
When you hand over control to the people, you empower them.
Aside from your personal opinion of m.s, can you not agree that Mastodon as a project has helped democratize the social web?
I believe that the people should be in control, which is why I manage #pixelfed the way I do, and why despite differences, I'm able to work with even the worst critics.
@dansup All tgat is nice, but the overall governance is headed the same way.
Suppression of any opinion dissenting from the PERSONAL VIEWS of moderators is rampant, and nothing points to that changing, whatsoever.
They want o be the #fediverse, the DIFFERENCE, but they behave the same as the #DTBOs
They have NOT handed power to anyone other than the people in mod positions.
We can tap dance in semantics, but this is factual, and clearly observable.
I am not criticizing the #mastodon project. I am saying the mastodon.social instance is a blight upon the very goals and ideals of it. Very different. VERY.
Musk and Zuckerberg are about centralized plutocrat social media. Dorsey seems to have gone crypto bro.
so any issues you might have with moderation on mastodon are completely unrelated to anything remotely like the problems that are Musk, Zuckerberg, or Dorsey
that makes your criticism incoherent. it's as if you're grasping at straws to say something negative, even if it doesn't make any sense
@benroyce it seems like you're getting distracted by distinctions without differences, like you're so busy trying to categorize different forms of questionable behavior that you're not noticing the similarities.
Yes, the issues with moderation are related because they are similar. That makes them related. Because of the similarities.
