I’m through agreeing to disagree. We’re not talking about mere political differences anymore. This is not an intellectual exercise. For many people, this is literally life or death stuff. If I confide in you about my fears regarding what’s going on right now, and your response is to simply say we need to agree to disagree, not only does that make you a pretty crappy friend/family member/whatever, it also shows me clearly where you stand. Let me be clear, I hate conflict. But for me this goes beyond wanting to keep the peace. Some people need their worlds rocked, and if nobody else is going to do it, I guess it’s up to me. #Resist #fightBack #TruthToPower
@Thumper1964 The problem is, political disagreements very often do have life or death implications.
If you don't recognize that you are talking about political differences, than you are ceding the field to your opponents, often with lethal consequences.
We may wish otherwise, but that's simply the reality of politics.
