@interfluidity #Trump won because he was in touch with the general public's sentiments, at least enough to externalize them. This is nothing new.

The American people were resentful of the state of the #USA under #JoeBiden and that's why #Trump won, not just because he himself is resentful. He's resentful against the same things and people a lot of people are resentful against, that's the only way it works in his campaigns.

@realcaseyrollins that's fine. just don't imagine broadly held resentments on their own present a pathway to some bold new future. someone has to actually chart a course towards something they might find less resentable. vengeance and retribution will not suffice to vouchsafe a bright horizon.

@interfluidity The main thing is that the US government was on a course towards something the people didn't want. At the least this interrupts the course towards something bad.

We can talk about a course towards something better later, at this point people just wanted to stop going in a bad direction.
