Most of the people that voted for Trump, are happy with what's happened.

Most of the centrist Dems that talked about moving right, are still talking about moving right.

So most of the people that stayed home or voted 3rd party, would stay home or vote 3rd party again.

No one has learned anything.

@mekkaokereke It will take a couple months for the financial impacts to hit. I don’t think all of those folks will see the light, by any means, but he doesn’t have any margin to lose.

That said, that still won’t fix whatever is wrong with Schumer and Jeffries.

@curtosis

I don't think people realize that during Trump's first term, farm owners saw firsthand the impact of tariffs and decreasing immigration. Many of them almost went bankrupt. And then they voted for him overwhelmingly again.

In fact, Trump support went up from 2016 to 2024. 🙂🙃

The more they saw, the harder they leaned in.

They like what he is doing. They're willing to risk financial ruin, to get a little more of the "attack groups I don't like!" part.

@mekkaokereke Well keep in mind that for a lot of people it's not about attacking groups I don't like, but about this sense of applying the rule of law fairly.

To be clear, I'm not saying that's a correct description of what's going on, I'm saying that's how a lot of people see it.

Like you said above, people didn't learn. Well this is what people need to learn, how other people see things so that we can understand and then engage with them.

Regardless of how you or I see it, a lot of people see Trump as restoring fairness and rule of law. And they need to be engaged on those terms.
