The American Astronomical Society (AAS) is alarmed by these rumored deep cuts to NASA and National Science Foundation and posted this alert notice today.

"The AAS calls on Congress to stand firm in maintaining continued US leadership. The AAS will continue to advocate vigorously in support of robust NSF and NASA SMD funding, and we invite you to join us in this advocacy by taking action today."

This is like one of those things where people give presidents far more credit for both economic growth and recession.

Musk isn't launching those rockets, neither when they fail nor succeed. Folks need to stop playing up that myth.
